NAIFA Preferred Providers Program

Annual Holiday Food Drive for the Center for Women, Children, and Families

The annual Food Drive for the Center has begun. Last year BAIFA was able to provide 100 food boxes at $20 each.  A lot of local stores and vendors generously provide the goods for these boxes at cost.  The goal this year is        to INCREASE THE NUMBER OF FOOD BOXES PROVIDED TO 225. THE NEED HAS CERTAINLY INCREASED DRAMATICALLY.  WE CAN DO THIS!!! ENLIST THE HELP OF YOUR COWORKERS, OFFICE STAFF, AND FRIENDS.. TIME TO GET THE BALL ROLLING!!!

  • People are invited to tour the facility for a $10 contribution, which will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar by the Modern Woodmen of America.  The William Morton House is a 200 year old home designed and built by William Morton around 1810.  It was purchased by Cassius Marcellus Clay in 1836 and was a stop on the Underground Railroad.

Additional Highlights from 2008 thru early 2009

  • A  $1400 grant was made to the Center from the Bluegrass Community Foundation.

  • A $2000 donation was made to the Center from the new Walmart Center.  They were so impressed when visiting the Nest Center that they pledged continuing support.  Thanks to Tracy Francis for initiating and cultivating Walmart as a sponsor for the Center for Women, Children, and Families.

  • The Winter Coat drive brought in numerous much needed coats, hats, gloves, scarves and other items.  The director told BAIFA that these items were completely gone in 2 days.
